Role: AV Project Engineer
Terms: Full-time

Position Overview
CDA is looking for a senior AV Project Engineer to join our growing team based in Boston. If you have a passion for AV technology, acoustics or IT-related engineering, and are a creative, outgoing individual who would thrive in a small company, team environment where your opinions count, we want to hear from you!
Candidates should be professional, technically oriented and dependable self-starters with an interest in AV systems design and implementation, as well as base building construction and architectural detailing. Experience with system design, budget development and program development essential. Ideal candidates will possess good planning and organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a thirst for applying best practices in AV system design. Experience within the construction industry and familiarity with AIA standards a strong plus.
Specific Duties Include (but not limited to):
- Support Lead Designers and Account Managers in design concepts, creation and development
- Design A/V Systems utilizing current technologies, including control systems, DSPs, matrix mixers and switchers, AV over IP, videoconferencing, appliances, and soft codecs, endpoints, video displays, and more
- Conduit contractor submittal reviews and design analysis, with an eye on detail/accuracy
- Provide client and project team interfacing and support, coordinating with project team members in all phases, from design concept to commissioning
- Participate in design collaboration, peer reviews, and Quality Control pre- and post-bid
- Participate in job site inspections; attend project meetings
- Participate in project commissioning and closeout; customer sign-off; reporting
- Further your knowledge of AV products and trends through vendor opps and self-learning
Qualifications and Work Requirements
- Associate or bachelor’s degree
- Engineering or technical service experience in the Commercial A/V Industry
- Comprehend base building drawings, system drawings and specifications
- Avixa CTS-D strongly desired but not required
- Proficiency with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and Acrobat required, Revit experience a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and work efficiently
- Periodic travel may be required
