CDA Provides AV Support for New Boston Scientific HQ

CDA is proud to share the opening of the new Boston Scientific Customer Fulfillment Center in Quincy, MA. Located on Squantum Point in Quincy, the state-of-the-art facility expands and modernizes the company’s logistics and distribution functions, and aligns with the goals of the company’s global facilities master plan.

CDA provided audio and visual consulting for the building, including conference areas, training spaces, and a variety of meeting rooms.

Comprising 64,000sf of office space and a 630,000sf customer fulfillment center, the building’s office space was designed to meet global workplace strategy standards that Boston Scientific is deploying around the world. The center includes 2.5 miles of high-efficiency, smart technology conveyor and the first installation of an enterprise warehouse management system for Boston Scientific Global Distribution. The sustainably designed building is expected to achieve LEED Gold certification for existing buildings.

CDA Designs Technology Spaces Within New Globoforce Headquarters

CDA is pleased to share our design work at the new Globoforce Headquarters in Framingham, MA. Globoforce is a leading provider of social recognition solutions with a mission to inspire greater humanity, productivity, and teamwork in the workplace. CDA designed and managed all the technology components of the new space, with a focus on collaboration, culture, and connection across the team.

About the office:

The company’s new headquarters encompass more than 55,000 square-feet and occupy two floors. The human-centric office features digital walls, floor-to-ceiling glass windows, stairwells with inspirational messages, phone booths for personal phone calls, collaboration spaces, relaxation areas, and a game area.

CDA and Boston Convention Center Featured in Commercial Integrator

For a recent project at the Boston Convention Center, CDA and Adtech teamed up with Harman to deliver a Dante solution that makes messages easier to understand. The project was recently featured in CI. From the article:

Communications Design Associates of Canton, Mass., led the team that built out the 6,144-channel Dante network across the BCEC, one of the largest exhibition centers in New England. The system routes announcements and background music across 45 locations. CDA, which worked with the convention center authority on the Hynes Convention Center in Boston, was able to significantly cut cable around the building through this installation, which replaced a system installed in 2001.

An Unlikely Story – Award Winning Design Team, including CDA

ARE awards logo 2016It is with great joy that we announce that the Jeff Kinney – An Unlikely Story design team, led by Bergmeyer Associates, was recognized for three awards last week at the 2016 A.R.E. Design Awards at the Four Seasons Ballroom in Las Vegas.  The A.R.E. Design Awards are the Retail industry’s largest and most prestigious awards, going on the 45th year.  It is an international competition with entries from around the world.

CDA is truly honored to have been part of this wonderful project and we extend congratulations to all members of the project team and to the Kinney family.

Tsai Performance Center Upgraded by CDA

20151130eawCanton, Massachusetts-based Communications Design Associates (CDA) recently designed a new sound reinforcement system for the Tsai Performance Center at Boston University.

“When the original system was installed in the early 90s, the room was primarily used for lectures, not performance,”  says Joe Patten, Associate Designer for CDA. “As the space has evolved, it was clear they needed a system that could accommodate a variety of performances in addition to regular lectures.”

CDA Certified as AV Provider of Excellence by InfoComm

The InfoComm APEx program is a marketing recognition program for integration companies and AV design consulting firms dedicated to upholding industry excellence by providing quality service to customers.

The InfoComm APEx program recognizes companies based on the number of employees holding key industry certifications, including InfoComm’s CTS credential, completion of continuing education classes, and positive customer survey responses. APEx providers must also prove that they meet or exceed the requirements within 2 ANSI/INFOCOMM standards, the Standard Guide for Audiovisual Systems Design and Coordination Processes and the AV System Performance Verification Standard, to foster better communication between the AV provider and the client.

“The APEx designation gives AV companies a mark of distinction in the marketplace,” said David Labuskes, CTS, RCDD, InfoComm International’s Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer. “Customers of APEx companies can be confident of the AV provider’s professionalism and commitment to ongoing training, customer service and dedication to excellence.”

Historic Meets Contemporary: Bold New Video Solution Facilitates Teamwork in Art Deco Building Renovation

ATLANTA, GA – 7/2/2014 – Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. (BBH), the oldest privately held financial institution in the U.S., recently consolidated their three Boston offices into an historic building in Boston’s Financial District. While a desire to commit to their Boston roots was a key motivator, a transformative building renovation that began in 2011 convinced the company to take a long-term stake in the historic building. A spacious segment of the Brown Brothers Harriman (BBH) tower’s 7th floor has provided the company with a versatile new space in which custom video content can captivate and inform both BBH associates and clients.

The BBH portion of the Post Office Square building saw a multitude of bold architectural and interior upgrades during the renovation. In fact, Dyer Brown Architects and Habjan Architecture & Interior Design, the architectural firms responsible for the new structural and environmental design, won an IIDA New England Interior Design Award in the “Best Office Over 80,000 SF” category for their work. The impetus for transforming the 7th floor atrium into a collaborative workspace came from BBH’s desire to bring together the many different BBH teams that were now consolidated within the new headquarters. “BBH’s previous locations were spread out and disjointed,” explained Michael Dow, SVP at BBH. Dow continued, “The atrium space creates the opportunity to bring the majority of the firm together for discussions, celebrations, and other events in a very functional, inviting setting.”
